ITAPA 2016 introduced Slovak and European goals in IT

The Slovak Vice-Premier for Investments and Informatisation Peter Pellegrini met with European Commission Vice-president for the Digital Single Market Andrus Ansip on Thursday in Bratislava. As Peter Pellegrini said, one of the priorities of the Slovak presidency at the European Council will be illegitimate digital blocking according to citizenship, data portability and the termination of roaming. The two officials met at the spring ITAPA 2016 conference; a leading international congress on IT use in public administration. The Slovak Vice-Premier with his Estonian guest agreed that in order to move forward in the field of digital services, the EU has to use one single identification card. Pellegrini also introduced his plan to revise all big informatisation projects in Slovakia that prove to have many flaws. During the congress, the Rector of the Slovak Technical University talked about yet another problem - the lack of university teachers in IT. It does not reflect the large level of interest of potential students and the demand for IT graduates at the market. "Universities suggest changes in financing that would include cooperation with the IT sector," concluded Robert Redhammer.
