The first three Slovak artists ever to participate at the international auction event titled Contemporary East in Sotheby's auction house, London sold their pieces for almost €43,000, informed Kristína Jarošová, the director of the Central European Contemporary Art Fund on Wednesday. Post-war artists Milan Dobeš, Stanislav Filko and Jana Želibská proved their production has huge potential for international collectors. "Other significant institutions such as Tata and MOMA search for alternative stories to western art history", explained Jarošová, adding that the non-conventional thinking of the three Slovaks have brought unique values to the auction in terms of international trends.
