MPs will decide the faith of the Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák at a special session starting on Tuesday. Opposition parties Freedom and Solidarity and OĽaNO-NOVA filed a proposal for a no-confidence vote on Friday, claiming that the Interior Minister has influenced the investigation into the case of an excessive sum of money in VAT returns to developer Ladislav Bašterňák. The developer currently rents a luxurious flat to Prime Minister Robert Fico. Kaliňák denies the accusations. Coalition MPs who have the majority in Parliament are expected to vote against the proposal.
