The prices of gas in Slovakia will drop as of July 4. Jozef Holjenčík, the chair of the Regulatory Office for Network Industries, announced this on Thursday. Households will save 4.87 percent on average and the prices for small companies will fall by 6.59 percent. "The situation with gas prices for consumer in Slovakia speaks volumes about real competition on the market and the need of its further regulation," stated the Office in early May. It has been pressing for price cuts for some time. However, some suppliers have stated that they bought the gas that they are supplying to their clients this year at the end of 2015, meaning that charges won't change until the beginning of next year.
