Tibor Turan and Martin Kohút are the only candidates for the President of Slovak Ice-Hockey Federation, who filed their applications before the deadline on Wednesday at midnight. The election will repeat after one year, when the election of Igor Nemeček led to a strike of around 50 of the best Slovak players. They supported the then runner up Richard Lintner. The stars found the election unfair and refused to play for the national team. After long negotiations, Igor Nemeček agreed to repeat the election and change its rules. Martin Kohút is the candidate of the opposing group while Tibor Turan supported Igor Nemeček last year. The election will be held on June 16.
