Slovakia’s economy to slow down

Following a 3.6 percent growth last year, Slovakia's economy will slow somewhat in the coming years, says the OECD in its latest prediction for Slovakia within its Global Economic Outlook. This year, the country's economy should expand by 3.1 percent and next year it should grow by 3.2 percent. The OECD sees behind the economic slowdown particularly the fading factor of having completed the drawing of EU funds from the previous programming period. Lower public investment, however, should be partly offset in the coming period by foreign direct investment while the main driver of economic growth should be strong domestic demand.
