The Slovak national party, which is part of the ruling coalition, informed on Wednesday that "at this moment it will not support an increase in license fees for public service radio and TV broadcasting." The draft amendment to the law on payments for public services provided by the public broadcaster RTVS, was submitted by the Culture Ministry for interdepartmental review in late May. Culture Minister Marek Maďarič from the SMER-SD responded to the criticism, saying that unless the proposal to increase license fees is approved at the beginning of the parliamentary term, it won't be passed at all.
