Prosecutors have decided to launch an investigation into the Student Loan Fund scandal involving Education Minister Peter Plavčan, the Sme daily reported on Monday. He was a member of the Fund's committee between 1997 to 2010 and had previously been accused in the media that in 2008 the Fund provided a very low interest loan to the Slavia Capital financial group, where Plavčan's wife worked at the time. The prosecution will now take a close look at the spending on overcharged health care for the fund's managers and their families. Plavčan has denies any wrongdoings.
