Judicial officer in the Marco case no longer court employee

The case involving the seven-year-old boy Marco from central Slovakia who was dragged from a classroom in front of his classmates and teacher by a judicial officer last week is progressing. While Justice Minister Lucia Žitňanská called the incident unacceptable, the Slovak committee of Unicef also voiced its strong disapproval of the officer's conduct and worries about the well-being of all the children who were direct witnesses to the event. "We consider the intervention unsuitable and in strong conflict with numerous articles of the Convention on the Rights of the Child." The actions of the higher judicial officer who, based on a court order, came to gather the child from his school, during class, without informing the school about it, was heavily criticized. He no longer works nor will work for the Žiar nad Hronom district court, stated it's spokesperson Adriána Vašková.
