Fake products of various luxury brands worth about € 3.5 million were seized by Slovak customs officers in Nove Zamky in southern Slovakia. A container from China was found to contain over 3,600 handbags and wallets with the labels of internationally renowned brands, such as Versace, Dior, Chanel, Michael Kors, Tory Burch, MCM, Longchamp, and Hermes.
“If the owners of the copyrights refer the matter to court and if a judge decides that the seized goods infringe intellectual property rights, the goods may be provided free of charge for humanitarian purposes,” said the spokeswoman for the Financial Administration Patricia Macikova.
