Brussels’ advice for Slovakia - build more kindergartens and nurseries

The European Commission (EC) has issued a list of recommendations for Slovakia for this year, identifying areas in which the country could improve. Those include increasing the number of kindergartens and nurseries for children, making teaching a more desirable profession, continuing in improving the VAT tax collection as well as the business environment. As the daily Denník N reports, Brussels also advises Slovakia not to forget about public finances, as well as to improve public procurement, modernise its public administration and improve the Slovak courts. Many of the EC recommendations echo ones from last year. Among them is also the advise to introduce measures that will tackle long-term unemployment, and improve the effectiveness of costs in the health care sector.
