The International Monetary Fund expects Eurozone members to free Greece from all payments on its bailout loans until 2040. Eurozone members are reserved with this proposal so far. Slovakia does not exclude certain compromises. The Greek debt is not payable under the current conditions. Nevertheless, the interest free credit would create a precedent in the EU. "They have to let us breath. If we are constantly being pushed, our economy will not grow. If it does not grow, it will be more and more difficult to pay our debts," said Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias during his visit to the Slovak capital last Friday. "We are ready to discuss the possibility of easing the debt burden if Greece meets the set criteria, as it has been meeting them until now," said Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak.
