Ján Figeľ becomes EU’s envoy for freedom of religion

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker appointed on Friday, 6^th May, the first special envoy for the promotion of freedom of religion or faith outside the EU. The post was given to former leader of Slovakia's Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) and the country's first EU commissioner Ján Figeľ. Figeľ assumed the new post on the same day. The envoy's term of office is one year and is renewable, announced the European Commission.
