Iran could become an important player in helping diversify the EU's energy sources and help with our energy security, stated Slovak Foreign and European Affairds Minister Miroslav Lajčák after his talks with the Iranian vice-president and the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi. The new atmosphere in the relations between Iran and the EU is helping the deepening of bilateral cooperation between Slovakia and Iran. The Slovak Minister stated that currently Slovakia has two basic economic treaties signed with Iran and that it's important to not lose this momentum but continue in developing the potential for cooperation between the two countries in various areas. At the beginning of this year the USA and the EU have revoked their embargo on Iran after the International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed that Teheran fulfilled all the criteria based in the 2015 atomic agreement with 6 world powers.
