The opposition Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party is submitting 40 measures to Parliament aimed at improving the Slovak business environment - measures that can be implemented immediately and won't pose a burden on the budget, the party's leader and MEP Richard Sulík said on Wednesday. Their proposal wants to for instance shorten the option of withholding VAT tax to four months max due to ongoing tax audits, increase limits for mandatory audits, scrap the 2-percent levies for artists and forbid the state from taking people to court over payments below €5. The motion boasts support also from fellow Opposition lawmakers from the OLaNO-NOVA and Boris Kollár-We Are Family parties. Talks on garnering support of the governing parties are still pending, with the liberals poised to submit the proposal at the next parliamentary session, slated to start on May 17.
