Police have evacuated customers and staff from Aupark shopping centres across the country and have sent in bomb squads following an early report of a bomb being placed in one of the malls. This affects Aupark shopping centres in Bratislava, Košice, Žilina and Piešťany. The news was originally announced via tvnoviny.sk and later confirmed by police spokespeople Martina Kredatusová, Michal Szeiff, Jana Balogová and Jana Mésarová. "The perpetrator has not designated a specific shopping centre, and therefore police have immediately taken all necessary measures to protect both people and property", said Martin Wäldl of the Police Corps Presidium. Bomb handlers and bomb sniffer dogs are currently searching the shopping centres.
