Prime Minister Robert Fico is in stable condition after Friday's heart surgery. The Slovak prime minister underwent cardiac surgery at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in Bratislava, whereby at the request of the family the doctors did not disclose any more details. Parliamentary Chairman Andrej Danko (Slovak National Party) is taking sick leave as of Monday, since he is to undergo stomach surgery at the National Oncology Institute in Bratislava on Monday afternoon. Therefore he won't attend the vote on the Government Manifesto in Parliament this week. Even though two of Slovakia's three main political representatives are hospitalized, the country won't have a constitutional crisis, stated deputy Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini on Sunday during television's TA3 discussion show. According to him, the deputies of both the PM and Parliamentary speaker have stepped in to cover their absence. On Monday deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák lead the extraordinary meeting of the government.
