Police officers will be equipped with a new application worth €54,000 for monitoring extremism on the internet, the Interior Minister Office's press department told TASR on Saturday. "The application will provide police with a set of tools enabling the monitoring, uncovering, recording and processing of cases of extremism on the internet more effectively," said the ministry, adding that it won't reveal any specifics of the new system due to tactical reasons. The software development will be part of the Effective Monitoring, Investigation and Countering of Violent Extremism in Cyberspace (EMICVEC) project, which is co-financed by the European Commission.
