Turkish Airlines is set to launch a regular Istanbul-Košice line operated three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) as of June 16, the carrier announced on Monday. "Turkish Airlines considers Košice as especially important due to its strategic, cultural, historic, business and tourism importance. This represents huge potential for expanding our global destination network", said Fatih Cigal, Turkish Airlines' Vice-President of Sales for Central Europe. The airliner takes into account a market covering several regions: the entire eastern Slovakia, Hungary's north-east around Miskolc, north-western Romania, south-eastern Poland and Ukraine's Zakarpattia Oblast.
