New government asks Parliament for confidence

On Monday afternoon, the government of Smer-SD, Slovak National Party, Most-Híd and #SIEŤ will come before Parliament with its mission statement and will ask the plenary for a vote of confidence. The program declaration's approval is a prerequisite for the government's further constitutional functioning. For its approval, the government requires at least 76 votes. The ruling coalition composed of four parties has the support of 81 MPs. The government manifesto was supposed to be presented by PM Robert Fico, however, since he is still in hospital due to heart problems, he will be replaced by Deputy Prime Minister for investments Peter Pellegrini.
