Globsec forum starts in Bratislava

Friday, April 15, marks the beginning of the GLOBSEC security forum held in the Slovak capital. The main topics will include solving the situation in the Middle East, dealing with Russia and Ukraine, the preparation of the NATO summit in Warsaw and the possible impact of US presidential election results on the global future. The participants will also address how European unity is being challenged by both the UK reform initiative and the recent migration crisis. The 11th annual conference, one of the top five of its kind in the world, will be opened by the Slovak president Andrej Kiska. The forum will host about 1,000 guests, including 4 presidents - Bulgaria, Macedonia, Croatia and Slovakia. As part of the GLOBSEC conference, the Slovak Defence Minister Peter Gajdoš will meet his counterparts from several countries, including Georgia, the Czech Republic and Hungary. He should also meet the German Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen, who is accredited to the forum, and the Deputy Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Alexander
