PM Fico cancels official visit to Czech Republic

The first official visit of the newly re-elected Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) was going to be to the Czech Republic, as is traditional. Fico's programme in Prague was planned for Thursday April 14th and was to include talks with his Czech counterpart Bohuslav Sobotka and an audience with President Miloš Zeman. However, as the Denník N daily informs, the official visit has been cancelled because of health reasons. The daily claims the Prime Minister has been hospitalised at the National Institute for heart and coronary illnesses due to a suspected heart attack. Fico was allegedly not feeling well already on Tuesday, when he also cancelled his participation at a court hearing where he was summoned as a witness. However he did go to the government office when the government manifesto was being finalised.
