Construction is underway for St. Michael’s Hospital in the centre of Bratislava, following the ceremonial tapping of the foundation stone by Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák, Health Minister Zuzana Zvolenská, and hospital director Marian Križko on Wednesday. According to estimates, the project is to cost €49.7 million; two thirds of this amount is earmarked for the construction of the building, and the rest is for equipping the new premises.
The Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák announced in a statement that funding for this project has been planned for more than five years from state-owned assets. When completed the hospital is expected to have 110 beds.
