Approximately 1,000 guests from 70 countries will attend the 11th meeting of the international security forum GLOBSEC 2016. There will be several presidents, prime ministers, defence and foreign affairs ministers, and experts on foreign policy and security among those attending. Among the main speakers will be former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and German Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen. Up for discussion will be terrorist threats in Europe, the situation in the Middle East, the Islamic State (IS), preparations for the NATO summit in Warsaw (July 8-9), the migration crisis, relations between Ukraine and Russia and the 'Brexit' (British referendum on leaving the EU). The main event will take place in Bratislava between April 15-17.
