Prime Minister Robert Fico received all respective chapters for the new Government Manifesto from his ministers on Wednesday. "We have the draft in principle and now have to collect all comments on it, and draw up a final draft that will have overall support," explained Vice-premier and Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák. Respective Ministers have defined their priorities. Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák wants to focus on increasing help for developing countries and also improving the care of Slovaks abroad. Security and defence is the priority of the Defence Minister Peter Gajdoš, and the Interior Minister Kaliňák put the fight against corruption and the improvement of services for Slovak citizens at the top of his list. He also ensured the public that the government will include a commitment to draw up a law aimed against shell companies in reaction to the so called Panama Papers scandal, which involves approximately 168 Slovak companies. The Manifesto should be definitely approved by the Government next Wednesday on April 13th.
