The Canadian-Slovak Chamber of Commerce (KSOK) is keeping its distance from John Novak and his activities, its media director Peter Green told TASR press agency. At one stage, Novak was a director of the Slovak-Canadian Chamber of Commercial Cooperation, which was established in May 2001. "This so-called 'chamber' has never had anything in common with the official Canadian-Slovak Chamber of Commerce", said Green. The Panama Papers reveal that John Novak is registered as a director of Green Carbon Renewables S.A. and other multinational companies, according to the website investigace.cz. It was established in August 2012 in the British Virgin Islands by the law firm Mossack Fonseca. According to leaked documents from this firm, it appears to have helped presidents, diplomats, businesspeople, sports stars, actors and even members of royal families to avoid taxes and launder money. According to tax experts, the scandal concerns one of the biggest discoveries of tax fraud in recent decades.
