President Andrej Kiska believes that new Health Minister Tomas Drucker will wage a war for patients' interests. The President had this to say after receiving the Minister on Monday. Andrej Kiska added that he wants to invite all new Government ministers for a chat, with Tomas Drucker selected as the first one. According to the Slovak President, health care is an "El Dorado of personal interests", corruption and lack of transparency. "For the first time in the post of president I feel that the Government has realised how deep the crisis in health care is, and following my talk with the minister it seems to me that he also knows exactly what he's facing. I believe that he'll wage a war for patients' interests", said the Slovak president. Tomas Drucker, who had served as the Slovak Post general director until recently, for his part said that he's now getting acquainted with the ministry, and he's gradually holding meetings with representatives of all relevant organisations. For example, he met directors of state hospitals on Monday, while he had a meeting with doctors scheduled for Tuesday.
