Slovakia strongly condemns the use of chemical weapons against the Syrian population confirmed in a report submitted by UN inspectors, the press department of the Foreign and European Affairs Ministry declared on Tuesday. UN inspectors reported on Monday that there is ‘clear and convincing evidence for the use of chemical weapons in Syria, which have killed hundreds of people’.
The inspectors didn't identify the perpetrators, however; a task for which they had no mandate. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has called for those who used the nerve gas in Syria to be held responsible.
