Government Coalition Agreement not yet released

In response to Opposition criticism earlier in the day that the Coalition Agreement has not yet been published in full, the two strongest parties Tuesday stated that the "release of the Coalition Agreement is conditioned on the agreement of all coalition parties." The statement released by Smer-SD and SNS on the coalition agreement that has consolidated four-parties earlier this month also includes Hungarian-Slovak reconciliation party Most-Hid, and the newest entity on the Slovak parliamentary scene - the Radoslav Procházka-led Sieť (Network) party. Most-Híd claims that the process of drafting the Coalition Agreement represents an internal issue among the coalition parties. Sieť, which enters Parliament without the required eight MPs to form a caucus, hasn't responded as yet to questions posed by the TASR news agency. In press statements released by spokespersons of Smer-SD and SNS Ľubica Končalová and Zuzana Kohútiková, respectively, the parties claimed that they will inform the public in due course about what is contained in the Coalition Agreement. "The functioning of the coalition is an internal affair for all parties involved. It's only natural that the coalition will display a common approach during parliamentary votes and promote the Government Manifesto", said Most-Híd spokesman Matej Kováč. The unwillingness to publish the Coalition Agreement was described by the Opposition as both "inexplicable and indefensible".
