MPs Viera Dubáčová(OLaNO-NOVA) and Ondrej Dostál (Freedom and Solidarity) appeared at the inaugural session of the new Parliament on Wednesday wearing the kind of a yellow Star of David badge that Jews were forced to display during WWII. The two MPs said that they were commemorating the transformation of Germany into a Nazi dictatorship in 1933 and were also pointing to what they called the presence of fascists in the new Slovak Parliament. Far-right Kotleba-People's Party Our Slovakia (LSNS) MP Milan Uhrík described the move as a "spectacle that isn't worthy of this place". "We don't consider ourselves to be fascists at all," said Uhrík, adding that his party only wants to see laws concerning all people equally. On Friday, March 25th, Slovakia commemorates the 1st transport of 1,000 girls and women from Poprad to Auschwitz in 1942.
