Inflation in August, measured by the European Union’s Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), rose by 1.4 percent year-on-year. Compared to July, this meant a slowdown of harmonized inflation by 0.2 percentage points. Prices in education and alcoholic beverages grew the most during this period.
