Third of Slovaks consider economy to be good

On Thursday, Eurobarometer published research showing that Slovaks perceive the economic situation in Slovakia and in the EU more positively than in the past. Moreover, most people still support the common currency and the Energy Union. Almost 80% of Slovaks are in favour of the common European currency, which is a little drop compared to year 2014. The major supporters are students, educated people, managers and people between 25-39 years of age while the major opponents are the unemployed. Almost one third of the respondents see Slovakia's economy to be good, while two thirds are of the exact opposite opinion. Little more than half of Slovaks are pleased with their job and financial situation which is almost 15% less than the EU's average. Common energy policies are favoured by 70 percent of Slovaks, mostly from the ranks of younger people, students and managers. They think the main purpose should be to guarantee reasonable prices for energy and to protect the environment.
