Large scale solar electricity producers are reporting losses amounting to tens of thousands of euro due to a new levy which is to come into force. From next year, they will have to pay a new charge for supplying electricity to the distribution network. This is one of the factors that will enable the state to slash electricity prices paid by people and industry.
Solar power producers however are complaining that their costs will increase by tens of thousands of euro, and that the state promised different conditions at the start of their businesses. Deputy of the director of the Slovak Association of Photovoltaic Industry Pavol Simon says they have already filed a motion with the Office of the Prosecutor General and also intend to turn to the Constitutional Court.
