Dozens demand Kotleba's party to be dissolved

The Prosecutor-General's (PG) Office has registered dozens of electronic calls for Prosecutor-General Jaromír Čižnár to file a motion with the Supreme Court to dissolve the far-right Kotleba-People's Party Our Slovakia, the Office's spokesperson, Andrea Predajňova, informed. The organisers of an anti-fascist march in Bratislava on Monday, which was held in protest against the presence of Kotleba's party in parliament, announced on Tuesday that they've sent a letter to Čižnár urging him to ensure that the party is banned. At the same time, they called on the public to join their move. The activists believe that the Kotleba-People's Party Our Slovakia is identical with the Slovak Togetherness-National Party, which was dissolved by the Supreme Court in 2006 on the initiative of then prosecutor-general Dobroslav Trnka. If the People's Party Our Slovakia is identical with a grouping earlier banned by the Supreme Court, then the question arises as to why it's been registered again and whether the laws are appropriate, said the spokesperson for the Prosecutor-General's office, Predajňová.
