Miroslav Beblavý steps down from deputy chairman over distrust in Siet’s leader

Miroslav Beblavý has resigned from the Sieť party's deputy chairman post. "The reason is because of a serious violation of my confidence in party chairman Radoslav Prochazka, resulting not only from the information published by the media, but also from the course of Monday´s sitting of the party leadership," writes Beblavý, referring to the fact that Prochazka stated for the media that he did not meet with Prime Minister Fico after the general elections, and when confronted with photos taken by the tabloid daily Nový Čas he then admitted he did meet with Fico. Beblavý claims he feels he has a commitment towards the more than 30,000 voters who gave him a preferential vote and that is why he will represent the party in Parliament as an MP.
