Between 3PM until 8 PM motorists in the Bratislava region can expect to see an increase in the number of roadside police checkpoints in an effort to monitor and enforce compliance with traffic rules. “Drivers will not be able to avoid complying with speed limits or breath testing in order to determine if alcoholic beverages have been consumed before or while driving,” informed police spokesperson Karina Považanová.
Police will also perform roadside checks on the technical condition of selected vehicles, as well as non-motorized road users such as cyclists. The police blitz will also target pedestrians who do not use pedestrian crossings correctly, or at all.
