About 1,000 people marched on Bratislava streets on Monday evening to express their discontent with the far right party Ľudová strana - Naše Slovensko entering Parliament for the first time in history. They gathered 8% of the votes in Saturday's elections and will have 14 MPs in Parliament. More than 200 people holding candles gathered in downtown Banská Bystrica on Monday evening in a similar protest. Head of the aforementioned party Marian Kotleba has been Banská Bystrica's regional governor for three years. Some of the protesters were holding banners, for example with the following inscriptions: "Banská Bystrica isn't ultra-right", "Let's not allow history to be repeated", and "Goodbye common sense". Others had banners with crossed swastikas.
