Foreign Ministry denounces Greek attacks on Robert Fico

On Saturday evening, the Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Ministry summoned Greek Ambassador to Slovakia Nicolas Panagiotis Plexidas to reject firmly a recent statement made by the Greek Foreign Affairs Ministry. The Greek Ministry published a statement on its website on Friday, in which it described Robert Fico's statements on the migration crisis as provocative. "We can't bear witness to his delirium or understand how he imagines, if re-elected, carrying out his duties as prime minister of a country that will soon preside over the EU [in the second half of 2016]," reads the Greek ministry's statement. The Slovak ministry said that the form and content of this statement don't correspond with standard inter-ministerial communications. "We hope that the Greek side will focus on real problems and solutions in the future and that it will constructively communicate with other European partners without personal attacks," said the ministry.
