Teachers from all levels of the Slovak schooling system, along with parents and students will be on strike alert as of Monday, March 7, SITA press agency informed. That was announced after a meeting of the Slovak teachers' initiative and the University teachers' initiative. In case of a passive approach of the next government, they are both prepared to enter the strike in order to have their three requirements fulfilled. Juraj Halas from the University teachers' initiative pointed out that the 40-day-long strike has been the longest running strike in the modern history of Slovakia. "It has become an important topic of public discussion," added Halas.
