On Saturday, March 5th, the general elections are to take place in Slovakia. Because of this, the ban on political advertisements of any form-the so-called Moratorium-began on Thursday at 7:00 AM. The new election law strictly forbids the release of any information about the running candidates 48 hours prior to and during the election. Another new rule in these elections is a ban on keeping unused voting sheets. Doing so could result in a fine of €33. The law also limits information from public polls. The media had to stop broadcasting poll results 14 days prior to the election. The general elections take place on Saturday from 7 am until 10 p.m. The results will be known on Sunday around midday.
