On Friday, the European Commission published its annual analysis of economic and social challenges in European Union member states. In its report on Slovakia, it wrote that Slovakia's economic expansion was one of the fastest in the EU after the crisis, while economic growth is set to continue, driven by the household sector. The growth of real gross domestic product is to exceed 3 percent both this and next year. The report concludes that Slovakia's results in education worsened and inequalities related to social and economic backgrounds are significant. The salaries of teachers in Slovakia are low and it is one of the reasons why this profession is not attractive for young talented people.
