The American investor Theta Energy Group plans to create 800 permanent jobs at Vojany thermal power plant in Eastern Slovakia. It plans to invest, modernise, develop and create local sources of permanent and safe energy supplies in the form of electricity and heating. They use gas and biomass in order to decrease emissions. According to the Finance Ministry, the investor hasn't applied for any aid from the state. The Vojany thermal power plant is run by dominant power producer Slovenské elektrárne of which the Italian firm Enel is a majority owner and the state has a 34-percent share.
