Šefčovič declared most influential EU energy policy expert

The European internet daily EurActiv on Wednesday unveiled its chart of the top 40 political experts with the most influence in the EU energy union policy. The winner is a Slovak - European Commission Vice-president for Energy Union Maroš Šefčovič. Second place on the chart went to the German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The results of the vote were revealed at the European Parliament as part of Wednesday's debate on the state of the EU energy union one year since its official announcement (February 25, 2015). In his speech given at the event, Šefčovič claimed that he perceives the first anniversary of the EU Energy Union as a demonstration of consent by Europeans with this agenda, both in Brussels and in individual EU states.
