Upon his return from Moscow, Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) convened an urgent meeting with representatives of Transpetrol to discuss gas and oil supplies flowing to Slovakia via the Druzhba pipeline. He stated that the talks in Russia had yielded measures that could help Slovakia. The opposition points out that despite repeated visits to Moscow, we still have the highest fuel prices in the region. Energie-portal.sk energy analyst Radovan Potočár points out that Transpetrol was once a source of revenue for the state budget. The transport of Russian oil onward to Europe brought money into the state treasury.
