On Tuesday in Beijing, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic Denisa Saková held talks with Chinese Vice Premier for Investment Che Li-feng on the continuation of the existing strategic partnership that the Slovak Republic and China concluded last year.
"We want to deepen economic cooperation by strengthening mutual investments in the automotive, renewable energy, biomedical technologies, as well as in the use of artificial intelligence and robotics in production processes," Saková wrote on social media. The Minister also discussed with her Chinese counterpart "existing obstacles to mutual trade," which, according to her, need to be addressed within the framework of China's relations with the European Union (EU).
"We are interested in open trade relations, based on equal conditions and in accordance with the rules of the World Trade Organization (WTO)," said Saková. She emphasized that Slovak companies are interested in investing in China, as well as increasing the export of Slovak production to the Chinese market. Her ministry therefore plans to continue supporting the active participation of Slovak companies in Chinese investment forums and fairs. She considers acquiring new trade partners to be extremely important for the economic growth of the Slovak Republic.
