Slovakia supports EU's unified response to US tariffs

Slovakia, along with other EU member states, agreed on a unified approach to address new tariffs imposed by the United States. Economy Minister Denisa Saková emphasized that these tariffs, affecting goods worth approximately 380 billion EUR are unfair and economically unjustified. Saková highlighted that the EU is prepared to negotiate to end this unnecessary trade war. The European Commission, led by Maroš Šefčovič, noted that the tariffs could cost European importers up to 80 billion EUR. The EU also has tools to compensate for the damage, including removing internal trade barriers and diversifying trade relations with Latin America and Asia.
