Average nominal salary in Slovakia up 4.7 percent to €1,643 in 4Q24

The average nominal monthly salary in Slovakia amounted to €1,643 in the final quarter of 2024, marking a 4.7 percent (€74) year-on-year (y-o-y) increase, the Statistics Office reported on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, real salaries rose by 1.6 percent y-o-y. Both nominal and real salaries have maintained growth for the fifth consecutive quarter, though the pace has been gradually slowing since last spring. The seasonally adjusted average salary increased by 1.4 percent from the previous quarter.

All 19 monitored economic sectors recorded increases in average nominal monthly salaries, ranging from 0.1 percent in real estate to 10.9 percent in electricity, gas, and steam supply.

After adjusting for inflation, 17 sectors saw real salary increases, while salaries in real estate declined by 2.9 percent and those in public administration dropped by 0.6 percent. The most significant salary growth was observed in the energy sector, water supply, and arts, entertainment, and recreation.
