The Finance Ministry is discussing the implementation of the tax on financial transactions with a number of affected parties, the ministry stated in response to the reservations of the Slovak Chamber of Tax Advisors, adding that methodological guidelines on related issues are also available to the general public on the website of the Financial Administration.
According to the chamber, the Financial Transaction Tax Act still has serious shortcomings that need to be eliminated, even after a number of modifications. Otherwise, there is a risk of application problems in practice. The chamber has addressed dozens of comments to the Finance Ministry in connection with the tax and is considering further amendments to the legislation to be a necessity.
"In addition to the Chamber of Tax Advisors, the Finance Ministry is consulting the implementation of the tax on financial transactions with representatives of entrepreneurs and representatives of banks. In close cooperation with the Financial Administration, methodological opinions on open questions are being prepared, and are accessible to the general public via the Financial Administration's website," informed the Finance Ministry.
