Slovakia’s effectivity in drawing EU funds: 33.9 %

As of June 2020, Slovakia had used €5.205 billion from the EU funds, which is only one third (33.9 %) of the money allocated to the country for the 2014-2020 period, indicates the Investment Ministry on its website. The use of these resources has grown by 36.1% year-on-year.

Moreover, the Supreme Audit Office of the Slovak Republic, which recently carried out control in the use of these finances for agriculture, stated this week that Slovak institutions did not use all available options to ensure the effective and transparent use of €450 million dedicated to this field. At the moment, the National Criminal Agency is investigating a large corruption scandal which includes the Agriculture Payment Agency (PPA) in charge of the allocation of subsidies for farming land.
