Not the Head of the Class Anymore

Not the Head of the Class Anymore

After the fall of the communism in 1989 Czechoslovakia and then Slovakia found themselves labelled as emerging markets, which translated from economic jargon means an economy which is in the process of growing rapidly and in some cases even building its industry.

Two decades later former communist countries are still in this group although they might feel uncomfortable in the company of the new kids on the block: China, Brazil, India or even Turkey. So are they stuck somewhere in the middle between the rest of their class and so called developed Western economies? With decades spent in advising companies how to do business in the so called emerging markets, Nenad Pacek, is the right person to answer this question.
